Our Story
My name is Ethan M. Foss & I reside in Chicago, IL. I have a true passion for audio technology. I have been working in the audio industry for over 15 Years. I started in 2001 working at a local church as the Audio & Visual Technician, then in 2004 I started working with local theatre companies as the Sound Board Operator & in 2011 I started working as a Sound Designer for a local theatre.
In 2007, I started at Mesa Community College in the Music Business, Sound Design, & Audio Production Technology degree programs. I graduated in December 2013 with a Certificate of Completion in Audio Production Technologies, interning at The Black Box Theatre. I am still pursuing the Certificate in Music Business & Sound Design as well as the Associate of Applied Science in all degrees. While at college I learned about Sound Design, Sound Recording, Live Sound Reinforcement & Audio Editing. While not currently taking classes at school, I am taking video courses on Lynda.com in the subject area of audio & music.
I am interested in audio production, sound design, audio engineering & audio recording as it will allow me to combine my passion & love of sound & music. It will also allow me to utilize both my educational background & hands on training. Though I have many years experience in the theater & performing arts industry, I pride myself in being versatile & being able to fill multiple roles in the entertainment industry.
I find that working with audio is more of a hobby than a job. I thoroughly enjoy mixing audio, designing effects, recording artists & editing tracks. For me, keeping the enjoyment & love for this work is what makes it into a career path. My motto is "The greatest career, is that which was a hobby" - (Unknown)
