when you book a dj you also should get access to their social media marketing network as well, meaning that most dj's should post your event flyer. i see promoters complaining that some dj's don't post their flyers enough or at all. this is simply remedied with a clear contractual agreement that states what the expectations are of both the promoter and the performer.
for example, when you book me you get access to all of my social media platforms with over 100,000 followers and dedicated event advertising groups across 6 platforms.
that's why it's important that your flyer design is top notch and professional. no professional entertainer wants to play with their branding by posting a low quality flyer. i can say that chicago has been doing great with this lately for sure!
however, one thing that we can work on is valuing out home talent. why put our own talented selectors names small on a flyer while foreign selectors are bigger? our selectors travel and headline as well so we should be treated with respect in our home town. may be an unpopular opinion but i just had to speak on it.
