Great news to share!

Our ECI Latin dance series at Hollywood Casino Joliet has officially been extended through November. After our July date, the series will move to select Thursdays, with a slightly expanded format that will include dance performances along with music, dancing, and community.

This is an exciting next step, and I am grateful to Hollywood Casino Joliet and to everyone who has supported the series so far.

I’m excited to share my newest newsletter article about Loncar’s Bar & Grill, the South Chicago neighborhood venue where we will launch Barrio Salsa Bachata & More on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Loncar’s is an intimate space with deep neighborhood roots, and that is exactly what makes this upcoming event feel so special. This article gives a little background on the venue and explains why I’m so excited to bring Salsa, Bachata and community energy into this classic South Chicago bar.

Please take a moment to read it, share it and make plans to join us!

In every dance community, there are people who show up simply to be seen, and there are people who show up to contribute.

Kat Armour Chávez is one of the contributors.

I’m proud to share this new El Caobo Internacional blog article recognizing Kat’s work as a mambo instructor, Salsa On2 enthusiast, arts educator and community builder.

Her presence in our scene reflects the kind of quality, care and cultural seriousness that helps keep the dance alive and accessible.
