Meet the technical crew behind Architecture of Memory!

Chicago native crawwlspace is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist, creating stunning pieces that are equal parts spooky, unusual, and beautiful.
After graduating in 2016 from Emerson College, crawwlspace quickly discovered her passion in various art styles such as acrylic painting, and collage art, as well as pen, charcoal, and watercolor pieces. To this day, crawwlspace continues to find beauty in the macabre and expand her talents within her art.
Her most recent skillset started in 2020 as she began experimenting with street art. Many of her notable pieces and stickers can be seen around Chicago, as well as many other cities across North America.
___

Below, Crawwlspace reflects on how familial ties stay with us—quietly shaping who we are, no matter where life takes us.

“My grandfather used to cry whenever he saw a sunset. The natural beauty of it never failed to move him to tears; a magical moment when the sky becomes painted with the most beautiful colors you’ve ever seen (and some maybe you haven’t).

No two are ever the same. No sunset is ever ugly. He had a special gift for finding something remarkable about everyday things. Now that he’s gone I like to believe that he helps construct the sunsets that we see each night. He chooses his favorite colors and patterns and throws them across the sky for everyone to see.

We don’t really lose people we love, we just have to look for them in different places.” — Crawwlspace, 2026.

Come see her work in Architecture of Memory now running through May 23. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8pm with a visual art gallery open to the public at 7:30pm.

At first glance, the performance space for Architecture of Memory feels less like a theater and more like a living museum of human experience. Before a single performer moves, the audience is invited into an art installation featuring the work of three artists whose visions quietly prepare us for th...
