always a fun, prismatic time at the WNDR Museum 🌈✨

wrapping up the month of our 30th Solar Return 🌞 we’re EXHAUSTED, but we’re so grateful to have been so well-loved for such a long stretch 💛

way back in December, when we did our yearly reading for ourselves, July 2026’s card was 𝕷𝖚𝖝 𝕭𝖗𝖚𝖒𝖆𝖑𝖎𝖘—Winter. that seemed…incongruent, at the time. but not now!

my entire lens of perception was colored early on by my favorite childhood comfort cartoon—the original 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑜𝑏𝑦 𝐷𝑜𝑜, 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑌𝑜𝑢? series from the 60s.

I look around rooms and know that anything can be hidden in the hollows of walls. I walk city streets knowing that entire other universes are co-occurring in dark alleyways, subway stations, shipping docks, and private, hi-rise penthouses. I know that not everyone is the mask they wear on the outside—for better or worse.

And what I know most of all is how the ghosts of history crawl underneath the sidewalks, wispily walk through walls, and disappear in a static-laced, unnerving mist as soon as your gaze lingers a little too long.

Unlike New Orleans or Salem or Savannah, my hometown, Chicago, isn’t ‘known’ for its hauntings. But as someone who’s lived here, let me tell you for a fact that it bulges at the seams with spirits.

Maybe no one notices because they simply continue to walk by us on the street without anyone being the wiser.

I’m planning a series of 𝐻𝑂𝑀𝐸𝑇𝑂𝑊𝑁 𝐻𝐴𝑈𝑁𝑇𝑆. Part history, part folklore, part IRL experience, and of course, the visuals. Chicago 𝑎𝑛𝑑 Northwest Indiana.
