This Wednesday October 16th at 6:30pm our Inclusive Dance workshops will be only in person at High Concept Labs.

About the workshop-
Ensemble Thinking (ET) is a practice of shaping group improvisation developed by Dr. Nina Martin and Lower Left Collective. For the last year, Shireen, Margaret, and Alison have been working with the practice to increase accessibility for disability dance spaces. In this Inclusive Dance Workshop, we will work with Ensemble Thinking activities -- or “scores” -- that introduce ideas about play, composition, group attunement, and access. In addition to experiencing the magic of improvising dance together, participants will be able to take these skills forward into all collaborative settings. We'd love for you to join us!

Masks are required unless it is an access barrier.

Join us at Independence Park on July 18 for an evening of movement designed for all bodies, minds, ages, and experience levels!

Date: Tuesday, July 18th
Time: 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Address: 3945 N. Springfield Ave.

Our Independence Park workshop is led by Sydney Erlikh and Deb Goodman and will include movement explorations based on a dance they are developing, as well as a short performance of the dance featuring members of the Inclusive Dance Workshops Community.

All are invited and encouraged to participate in whatever way feels best for them. Feel free to sit, stand, lay down, and move as best suits you. The workshop space is a large, even, cement surface with very little shade. We will have a limited number of mats and chairs available for use, but encourage dancers to bring their own, if they like. We encourage all dancers to bring water and wear sun protection.

The workshop will be held in the large paved area behind the park building off of North Springfield Ave. Look for bright pink signs and IDW volunteers to help you find the workshop. If it rains, the workshop will be held inside in the park’s gymnasium, which is located on the first floor of the building.
