Hope is our superpower.

As long as we live, there’s hope that we can do great wonders of truth and beauty. So many men and women have been robbed of Hope. Our job, our privilege, is to help them rediscover their super powers. They may have faded, but they are still there. Investing in our creative brothers and sisters, no matter their age, shape, size, color, or flava’ is how we all win.

They say you only have one life to live.

That’s a lie.

We have this life, and we have the promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ. There are many seasons, good and bad. How we live now will determine the quality of our eternity; whether hellish or beyond what any human eye and ear has ever experienced—eternal glory.

Beware those sweet little lies that keep you from a faithful life and the promise of a life of eternal glory. The enemy of a good heart and a strong faith works against a lifestyle that honors God, deeply satisfies your soul, and enriches your spirit. If the enemy can steal your courage, you will make decisions that, over time, lead you away from the Father’s will. Your choice has eternal consequences and rewards.

Honor God in Heaven, make that money, do your art, and don’t lose heart. Lord Jesus guides us through our many decisions and uncertainty so that anyone can have “happily 4ever after”. Amen.

The same hot, red stuff runs through all of us.

We can celebrate our sameness and our uniqueness at the same time. That’s America, and we are grateful. Ultimately, we are citizens of the Eternal Kingdom of King Jesus and One Family under Father God. That warms a brotha’s heart.

Big Brotha’s Heart is made up of artists, servants, fighters, and lovers. We struggle with doubts, isolation, and so much more. Our victories are possible in loving communities of faith, truth, and hope. We are one in love, and we are infinite in creative expression. Everyone has a story worth eternal glory. Every heart needs a little help manifesting the fullness of its story.

That is why we put our whole heart into our work. Invest in our creative brothers and sisters, and we can fill the world with the Truth and Beauty of the Lord.

You see him every day. Today, take a closer look.

We seek and celebrate unseen and unknown talents and treasures. We celebrate the dreamers, those whose creative hopes still flicker within them. You have known this dude all your life, but dad, daddy, papí, pops…has depth and width that you can barely imagine.

Big Brotha’s Heart works for the young, the old, the lost, and the found. It is easy to lose your way without love and understanding. Those closest to you may be the ones who can’t see the talents and treasures in front of them. You might be just as blind. Family means love AND service. BBH works hard for artists & creatives. There is nothing more wicked than the waste of a good creative heart. God forbid!

We celebrate family every day. Family is impossibly hard. Our God is Lord of the impossible. “With God, all things are possible.” Your art is waiting. Don’t let it wait too much longer. If you are on the creative battlefield, keep fighting. God is with you! If you don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior, death has been defeated! Eternal, creative life and true love are waiting for you.

Imagine a Latina in her 30s, surrounded by kids in a cozy, clean house, keeping the house in order. She organizes the kids, meals, and activities. Unfortunately, there is not enough time or energy for her artistic self. Both parents work, serve, and have their unique calling and creative pursuits.

Start with her. Give her the respect due for what God has called her to be as a partner, mother, woman, and artist. She’s family, and she deserves our RESPECT.

African American men are in crisis: Wasted potential. Complete heartbreak. Self-destructive living. It will take more than pretty pictures and fancy graphics to deal with this issue.

Where is the Church in all of this? Where are the “haves” to help the “have-nots”? Where are those with homes to help the homeless? Where are those with food to help the starving and malnourished?

The early church had an answer. “They had all things in common.” Acts 2:44-45.

She is working hard on what matters most to her. She has paid her dues and made the most of her life. She has made many sacrifices and suffered some losses, but she is committed to her better self. She is a fighter. Nanna could have chosen a life of ease and distractions.

She is making the better choice.
