It’s here! We start today after 5 years of building to bring back Son y Arte. From 2012 - 2021, prior to 18th Street Casa de Cultura, we developed a Spanish immersion summer camp called Son y Arte. A labor of love, hope, and community. Each year a different theme that centered culture, heritage, language, art, music, and building consciousness in our children. With a passionate staff making culture exciting and centering unique experiences for all who participated. As we grew 18th Street Casa de Cultura, Son y Arte took a pause, a big program to take on for a new organization growing its wings. Not anymore! We would like to introduce PACTO- Son y Arte Summer Camp. PACTO - Projects in Arts, Culture, Teaching, and Organizing is an initiative we have working with CPS schools in our neighborhood, Pilsen, bringing arts and cultural programming during after school time. Why not in the summer? PACTO - Son y Arte Summer Camp is the combination of the camp we love and working with CPS schools in our neighborhood, but also other ones as well.

Stay tuned as we showcase our staff, our participants, our high school summer interns, and all the specials guests visiting.
