Before CLINK, Joyce Dawkins was already building rooms.

She founded She ROCKS It to celebrate women who rock. She founded S.H.E. Inc., a 501(c)(3) built on sisters helping each other. She created She ROCKS It Magazine, now reaching more than 80,000 readers worldwide. And she got a day on the national calendar,National I AM Day, every second Sunday in March.

BET+, ABC 7, FOX 32, WGN, NBC 5.

Then she and Chrishon Lampley built CLINK. Five years later, here we are.

We told y’all yesterday — we do NOT recommend the heels. 😂 You’re going to be walking, tasting, mingling, dancing and making your way around the festival, so trust us… cute AND comfortable is the move.

Think: ✨ flowy dresses, cute tops + pants, rompers, matching sets — something you can look good in AND enjoy yourself in.

CLINK didn’t come from a boardroom. It came from a woman who spent twenty years getting into other people’s rooms.

Chrishon Lampley co-founded this festival. Before that: art gallery owner, blogger, the woman nobody expected to own the wine. She kept showing up until the Tribune, Mariano’s and the shelf caught up.

Then she stopped waiting to be invited and built the room herself, alongside co-founder Joyce Dawkins. Five years later, that room is Chicago’s wine and culture festival, and this year the theme is women.

25 to 65 in one room and the 65 closed the party. 🍷 Great wine, great spirits, great beer, great zero-proof — hydrate however you want, nobody’s explaining their glass. Chefs cooking all night, and then you dance the calories off. That’s a balanced diet.

Hip hop heads, house heads, classy, eclectic. Everybody’s song came on. Nobody sat down. And by 4pm the house heads had formed a circle — no announcement, no warning, just footwork.
