Ready to walk under a canopy of lights and be wowed by colorful light shows? Lights cape is making its Australian debut at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne in winter 2021. The show includes large-scale insta
llations including lit-up walkways, sparkling trees, lights floating on the Ornamental Lake, glowing archways and a field of light and color. The installations follow a 1.5-kilometre route across the gardens. We're anticipating it will run much like the Fire Gardens exhibition that hit the RBG in 2018 with people directing you past all the attractions and showing you the best photo spots. Lights cape originally ran at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew in the UK over seven years ago and was a huge success, spreading across Britain and the US in the past couple of years. The Melbourne event has commissioned local artists to create works that emphasis Melbourne’s rich cultural history and our connection to nature. Official dates and tickets will be available in late 2020.
