She gained knowledge through YouTube videos and self-experiment. In 2012, at the age of 11, she began her training at Beverly Arts Center where she first trained in ballet. In 2014, she continued her training at Intrigue Dance & Performing Arts Center and soon joined the studio company under the artistic director Pia Hamilton. At Intrigue, she continued her training in ballet, hip hop, tap, contem
porary, gymnastics, tumbling, and musical theater. She participated in various statewide conventions such as Artist Simply Human Convention and DanceMakers Convention where she gained experience in discipline, commitment and teamwork. In 2016, she continued her training at Extension Dance Company under the direction of Lizzie Mackenzie. She participated in the studio company where she would continue to compete and perform. At Extensions she gained training in hip hop and tap, but mainly focused on ballet and contemporary. From 2016-2020 Andrea attended The Chicago High School for the Arts where she received strong foundation training in classical ballet and modern dance techniques under the direction of Sara Ford and Greer Reed. The Dance Conservatory gave her strong foundations in a variety of dance styles through master classes and workshops from globally recognized teachers, performers, choreographers, and companies. At ChiArts, she gained high levels of instruction and experiences from professionals and experiences that prepared her for pre-professional dance. Meanwhile in 2017, she began her pre-professional training at Visceral Studio Company under the direction of Artistic Director Nick Pupillo. While joining the Visceral Studio Company, she continued to heavily train in ballet and contemporary, and grew a stronger passion for hip hop. Being exposed to different techniques, Andrea began to explore and advance her own movement and started growing as an independent dance artist. Since 2020, she has joined Archangels, a company of 6 women, under the artistic direction of Annie Franklin. In Archangels, she has been part of many dance concept videos and to this day continues to get opportunities to take on artistic direction in projects. In addition, she continues her training mostly in hip-hop at Indie Media Studio while continuing to take classes at various studios throughout the city while occasionally teaching adult contemporary classes. While not dancing, Andrea dog sits in her community, travels, and enjoys spending time with her family. She is also certified in Eyebrow Artistic Micro-blading which she will pursue in the near future. As a dance teacher, Andrea feels that it is important for her students to feel confident, motivated and inspired at all times. It is also important for her to create a safe space and environment where her students will feel comfortable to freely express themselves through the art of dance. Andrea wants to see her students succeed, be proud of their accomplishments, and enjoy all of the hard work and dedication they have put into dance. With her extensive knowledge and love for dance, Andrea hopes to shine light to this art form in her community and inspire and promote the importance of expression, artistry, self-value, and dedication. Andrea is enthusiastic to share her love of dance to the next generation of dancers.
