As Porchlight's Summer Camp programs kick off this week, we are reminded of all of the incredible students we've worked with this past academic season. It is always a joy to bring theatre education to students, but it means so much more to see that joy reflected back. At the conclusion of this year's residencies, we were treated to handmade thank you notes from students at José de Diego Community Academy (a residency partially funded by Ingenuity) and we couldn't be more grateful. Looking forward to exciting summer and a return to residencies this fall.

Tomorrow marks a new supermoon, when the moon reaches its closest point to the Earth in its orbit, causing it to appear larger and brighter than normal. In honor of this incredible phenomenon, we encourage you to enjoy an episode of WPMT as host Michael Weber shines the spotlight on "The New Moon," a classic American operetta with music by Sigmund Romberg and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Set in 1792, it tells the romantic and swashbuckling tale of Robert Mission, a French aristocrat and revolutionist hiding in New Orleans, who falls in love with the daughter of a prominent planter. Enjoy this feature of "The New Moon" as first heard on November 12, 1948 on "The Railroad Hour," starring Nadine Connor, Gordon Macrae and Rudy Vallee.

AEA actors make appointment online through the official Actors' Equity Association Member Portal or simply walk in.
Non-Union actors are welcome to walk in.

Times: 11:30am - 3:30pm and 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Location: Porchlight Rehearsal Studios, 4200 W. Diversey, Chicago.
Seeking:
Actors for all roles and understudies in “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Dead Outlaw” (Co-Production with Theater Wit)
(“Shake It Away: The Ann Miller Story” has been cast)
Chicago-local actors only. Productions will not consider out-of-town actors.
Preparation:
Please prepare a cut of a music selection appropriate to the production not to exceed 2-minutes. Have a second selection ready in the style of the productions. Bring sheet music, your book and a headshot/resume. An accompanist will be provided. No recordings, please. If you play advanced guitar, banjo or mandolin, you may bring it to demonstrate your skill.
