When I say I can paint anything for commissioned work, it is the honest truth, baring anything I feel ethically or morally conflicted with. But this was SUCH a fun commission for me. It’s always refreshing to be presented with a new challenge. What do you think?

If you’ve ever been curious about commissioning a painting or drawing with me, let’s chat. I try to make the process as approachable as possible and I offer lots of options for all budgets.

Timelines run anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on my schedule, but rush options are sometimes available for an additional fee.

I had to move this painting in my studio today and when I set it aside “upside down” I made the startling discovery that I’ve been hanging it upside down for 4 years now, and this is in fact right side up.

One of my favorite group shows to participate in every year! Love seeing the fun pieces everyone comes up with for this show. Come see me next Friday at Jackson Junge and check out the show! But some original art from some amazing local artists as an early Christmas present to yourself!

60x42 watercolor on Yupo “rebirth postpartum “

Started this 2 years ago in a different studio. Shelved it for a year and a half. Finished it in a month. This is a self portrait of me around the time my daughter was 2, which for me was around the time I regained a sense of self. Postpartum depression, as it is often labeled I think can more accurately be described as postpartum grief. There is a death of self that occurs and a complete restructuring of identity. There is a crossing over and you can often feel like you’re on the other side of a river from everyone else. Death and birth are the same portal. But eventually you learn how to stand up in this new uncomfortable body and it is even possible to love her.

A peek at an ongoing intuitive daily series I’ve been working on in collaboration with a few other artists about cycles. I have an installation planned for these, more to come on the cycles project.
