I’m am returning to Chicago so full of inspiration. These three artists are so stunningly talented. I’m going to miss strolling into the studio past everyone’s work spread out around them, the subtle smell of oil paints, the sound of hammering, the sighs of frustration or relief as each person worked through their own hurdles, looking up and seeing everyone in the reverie of their own process. My studio in Chicago is going to feel pretty empty when I return, but I have a zillion ideas to keep me busy. I hope our paths cross soon! .ou.telier

My cup is filled with inspiration from this trip. The biggest source being the beautiful women I had the honor of sharing a studio space with for the last two weeks. Each one of them is so incredibly talented and made work that moved me. Im going to miss the landscape, but not as much as the subtle smell of oil paints, the sound of hammering, the sighs of working through frustration. I’ll miss looking up and seeing 3 artists submerged in their process, family dinners and getting to hear everyone’s story of how they navigate being an artist and caring for family members, and working jobs to keep art afloat in their lives. They were truly an anchor in uncertain waters. It better not be a terribly long time before our paths cross again.

When I say I can paint anything for commissioned work, it is the honest truth, baring anything I feel ethically or morally conflicted with. But this was SUCH a fun commission for me. It’s always refreshing to be presented with a new challenge. What do you think?

If you’ve ever been curious about commissioning a painting or drawing with me, let’s chat. I try to make the process as approachable as possible and I offer lots of options for all budgets.

Timelines run anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on my schedule, but rush options are sometimes available for an additional fee.
