In this structured improvisation workshop, we’ll draw from Butoh (a Japanese contemporary dance form rooted in the relationship between imagery and movement). We will explore how animals, stillness, terrain, + instincts live in our bodies. We’ll move through guided imagery, investigating what it feels like to be a creature, to be curious, to be in relationship with the world around us.
No dance experience necessary. Open to all bodies and all levels.

Forage | Mitsu Salmon
Forage is a solo performance piece that questions the isolation of contemporary mothers as “natural”. Comparing it to the communal aspect of hunter-gatherer societies, the piece also examines the relationship between the body, technology, and landscape.
