Public Service Announcement to DJs 🎧

There’s nothing wrong with introducing yourself when you come to another DJ’s event. In fact, networking is important. Shake hands, show love, and build genuine relationships.

But if we’ve never met, don’t know each other, and have no working relationship, please don’t ask to jump on the decks at my event.

As DJs, we spend time building our brand, earning trust with venues, and creating the right vibe for our audience. Letting someone perform isn’t a decision based on a quick introduction—it’s based on trust, professionalism, and knowing what that person brings to the table.

Don’t put another DJ in an uncomfortable position. Instead, introduce yourself, exchange information, support the event, and build the relationship first. Opportunities come from respect and consistency, not rushing the process.

Respect the craft. Respect the DJ. Respect the relationship. 💯🎵
