My work reflects my personal narrative, cultural heritage, and themes around the intersectionality and celebration of life & death. She/Hers
In this page: I will share sketches, works in progress, final designs, giveaways, and will be selling prints in my online shop. Look forward to supporting and meeting other creative minds. My artistic style as a whole explores the intersectionality and celebr

ation of life and death. The relationship each has to one another and what impact we want to make in ourselves and in our communities from the learnings of our ancestors. Each design is hand illustration using pencils and microns and features wordplay titles that are formatted to see the cross identities many Latinx folx carry. More so gives you a look into my continuous pathway of self growth and relearning of my first language.

Monday moods, creative prompt #11: fireworks 🎇
This was a mix of speed drawing, no sketching or over lining, using digital filter, etc to make something new and odd. Loved how when decreasing the exposure, the darks made the image really feel like nighttime and reminisce about those summer fireworks. Even the ones my neighborhood would have at 3 in the morning 🥱😁

Late night Sunday post. Today’s creative prompt #10: butterfly
Enjoyed spending the day with family and doing fun spooky szn activities. Which meant less time to do a full design. Sketched out an idea (image 2) but wasn’t fully in love with it so gonna pause on it for now. Instead sharing a piece from last year, very early on when my insecurities were in the way and I didn’t feel comfortable sharing online. It’s taken time, energy, and support to have grown this much, similarly to butterflies and their journey. Heres to growth!

It’s the weekend!!.!! Today’s creative prompt #9: La Catrina 💀💃🏽
The original portrait of La Calavera Catrina was made by Jose Guadalupe Posada through etching. Taking inspiration from the original piece particularly the pattern lines. Shaped the hat to be styled similar to the sun/floppy hat. Love seeing the different interpretations artists make when recreating la catrina. I’m especially awed and applaud makeup artists who do incredible designs on faces. It blows my mind!! 🤯❤️

😋Happy Friday! Today’s creative prompt #8 is food (yummy)! - I’ll be honest, I confused the prompt for the day and made tomorrow design lol. So to celebrate the first week, I’m gonna share a throwback piece from 2020 that I made but never shared. Can’t remember why I didn’t but was super proud of it since it was an ode to my favorite dish, albondigas. This is sooooo good on a cold night and hands down my sister makes the BEST albondigas ever.!
Now all I have to do is actually learn how to make it myself. LOL

Today’s creative prompt #6: candles it’s been a while since I did any type of pencil shading and I struggled tbh. But I did the best I could to remember this awesome candle I painted a year ago that I gave to a friend for Dia de los mu***os. She still has it with the wax almost gone but she plans to refill it with a wax new color.

🐾🐾🐾 Today’s creative prompt #5: family pet. I grew up as a non-pet owner sadly but always found so much comfort and joy spending times with dogs. If and when I do become a pet owner, I would love to find or create a warm sarape style sweater similar to the one I had growing up. Ironically that sweater was called the cat in my family because of how often I wore it. Also this is my first attempt at sketching a pup so pretty happy with its shape.

Had fun with today’s creative prompt #3: patterns
Patterns play a HUGE role and inspiration in my illustrations. It’s amazing with a simple shape or line in repeated format can turn into.
This one took a while because of the small lines but was super satisfying to see it after I was done lining it with microns.

Happy Oct 1!
Celebrating the full month of October in celebration of dia de los mu***os! Expect to see some new work, rough sketches, and I’m participating in daily creative prompts for the month. Encourage anyone who needs some inspiration in their lives to join in

Today’s prompt was candy and I knew I had to draw Manita de la suerte/manita paletas/hand lollipop strawberry flavored. Pretty sure I gave myself my first cavity because of them 😂

All works are originals and hand illustrated by me. Most of them will be works in progress. Glad to be back in a headspace where I feel excited and comfortable to share some new work. ❤️
