Come by for the official opening of my artist in residence . This Thursday December 4th from 6-8pm. I’ll be hanging out at the restaurant to chat so come by to have a snack, a drink and say hello.
As this seasons artist in residence I have over twenty new paintings that I hung throughout the four dining rooms of the restaurant. I also opened the vault and brought out a handful of older archived work of mine. Some of it never having been shown to the public before. In sort of a retrospective you can see the many different stages of my work and style that have evolved through my career.
My art will be on display through Feb 9th. Available to view during normal business hours.

A handful of weeks back I installed this mural at New Wave Coffee in Logan Square.
Originally I had painted this mural for the lobby of Soho House as a temporary installation. It lived there for a few weeks then got put into storage. Finally I was able to bust it out to see the light of day as an indefinite installation here at New Wave Coffee.
Major shout out to for scheming how to hang, building cleats and executing install. Thanks to as well for the space and lending a helping hand during the process. Couldn’t have done it without y’all!

One in a series of twenty four paintings I dubbed “Make It Make Sense” I painted these over the last few years and showed them all together at last spring.
This is a style of mine where there painting develops through time and layers. I let the construction of the piece lead the way. Laying down color and form through different paints and mediums to forge the piece. Often shifting direction and narrative through the action. Knowing when you’re finished is the hardest part.
