The company specializes in managing unique artists and creating special events that stubbornly do not to fit a mold, but instead have their eyes on new frontiers. It would not be atypical to see many of our projects span over several mediums and formats. Founded in 2021 after months of projects constantly pivoting and changing, no one on the team was hindered by the apparent destruction of traditi

onal formats but instead took their already pioneering programs to new levels. Local Universe maintains its A DIY ethos to carve out a path each that is made for the project, never satisfied with the easy road ahead.

Chicago’s 𝐌𝐕 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 steps out front with 𝐿𝑒 𝒟𝒶𝓊𝓅𝒽𝒾𝓃, his debut solo album, arriving May 29, a sharp, melody-first mix of indie rock, orchestral pop, and singer-songwriter craft that leans as much on Harry Nilsson and Burt Bacharach as it does the left-field pop instincts of Electric Light Orchestra and early solo John Lennon. After a decade embedded in the city’s indie circuit, from the scrappy hooks of to the synth-leaning detours of , Wells pivots toward something more deliberate here. The edges are still there, but the focus sharpens. This is a songwriter’s record, built on melody first, with a deep pull toward classic pop structure and a refusal to sand down its weirder instincts.

☀️ ᴢᴀɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴀᴍᴏɴᴅ ☀️ is maybe one of the most talented up-and-coming artists in Chicago. His visual and sonic work is an improvised collage of different sounds and materials. He’s a go-to collaborator having done shows with Local Universe with Lia Kohl, Macie Stewart, and M.Sage, releasing music on Moon Glyph, Sound as Language, Florabelle, Cached.media, among others.  It did not surprise us when during what was supposed to be a solo set, Zander jumped in with clarinetist Zachary Good for a spontaneous duo. It’s this spur-of-the-moment approach and boldness in what is otherwise patient, serious music that keeps Zander’s sets playful and exciting.

This Thursday he performs solo and as a trio with Eli Schmitt and Garrett Hatcher at Judson & Moore
