Greek Phrase of the Week 🇬🇷 | Στην υγειά μας! 🥂

There’s something special about gathering around a table, sharing good food, good conversation, and raising a glass with the people you love. 💙

In Greece, you’ll often hear “Στην υγειά μας!” (Stin ygeiá mas!) as glasses are raised together. Literally meaning “To our health,” it’s the Greek way of saying “Cheers!” 🥂

But like so many Mediterranean traditions, it’s about more than the words. It’s a little celebration of health, togetherness, gratitude, and the joy of sharing the moment. 🫒

So whether you’re overlooking the Aegean from a little taverna or gathered around the table at home…

Στην υγειά μας! 💙
To good health, good company, and many more moments together.

Who would you raise a glass with? 🥂

Something was missing… and sometimes, all it takes is a little art. ✨

A warm Mediterranean space can be beautiful on its own, but add a glimpse of the Greek coast, a little blue from the Aegean, and a story captured in watercolor… and suddenly it feels complete. 🇬🇷🌊

From an empty wall to a little window into the Mediterranean. 💙

That’s the beauty of art—it doesn’t just fill a space. It gives it character.

🌊 Mediterranean Monday | Οι Ψαράδες 🇬🇷

Before the tavernas fill their tables and the villages begin to stir, the fishermen are already at sea. 🎣

For generations, οι ψαράδες — the fishermen — have been part of the rhythm of life along Greece’s coastlines and islands.

In their little boats, they head out with the morning light, reading the winds, following the currents, and carrying with them knowledge passed from one generation to the next. 🌊

And when those little boats return to the harbor, they bring more than the morning’s catch.

They bring home a tradition.
A livelihood.
A connection between the village and the sea. 💙

From their hands…
to the harbor…
to the taverna table. 🐟🍋🫒

Fresh. Local. Mediterranean.

A way of life that continues, one generation at a time. 🇬🇷

There’s nothing quite like a long lunch at a Greek fish taverna by the sea. 🌊🐟🇬🇷

Fresh grilled fish, crispy kalamari, octopus straight from the grill, a big χωριάτικη salad, and a chilled glass of white wine… all enjoyed slowly, with the sound of the waves nearby. 🍋🫒

At a Greek fish taverna, the best meals aren’t about ordering just one dish—they’re about filling the table, sharing everything, and staying a little longer than you planned. 💙

✨ What are you ordering first?
🥗 Greek Salad
🦑 Kalamari
🐙 Octopus
🐟 Grilled Fish
🍤 Shrimp Risotto
🍷 White Wine

Save this for your next Greek taverna day! 🇬🇷

Some weekends are meant to be spent a little slower… 🌿⛰️

Under the shade of the grapevines, surrounded by good company, a table full of simple things, and that cool mountain breeze drifting through the village. 🇬🇷🇨🇾

No rush. No schedule. Just coffee, conversation, and nowhere else you need to be. 🤍

And when you can’t escape to the mountains, bring a little piece of that feeling home.

Bring a little piece of the Mediterranean into your vocabulary this week. 🇬🇷✨

Word of the Week: Μοναστηράκι (Monastiraki)

Meaning “little monastery” or “little church,” this beautiful Greek word evokes the peaceful whitewashed chapels tucked away along coastlines and mountain villages. These small sacred places are woven into the landscapes of Greece and Cyprus, offering moments of quiet reflection, breathtaking views, and timeless beauty.

Sometimes the smallest places leave the biggest impression. 🤍

Have you ever visited a little chapel by the sea or hidden in the mountains? Share your favorite memory below! ⛪🌊

🕯️ Mediterranean Monday

Have you ever wondered why Greeks and Cypriots light candles when they enter an Orthodox church?

In the Orthodox tradition, lighting a candle is a quiet act of prayer. It represents our faith, our hope, and the light of Christ, while symbolizing our prayers rising to God. Many people light candles to give thanks, pray for healing, remember loved ones, or simply spend a peaceful moment in prayer.

As we journey through the blessed month of August, many Orthodox Christians also prepare for the Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary on August 15—a time of prayer, reflection, and devotion that is deeply cherished throughout Greece and Cyprus.

Sometimes, the smallest flame can carry the deepest prayer. 🤍🕯️

Have you ever lit a candle in an Orthodox church? I’d love to hear about your experience in the comments.
