Come dance with us at our Winter Social! All BC alumni, students, and faculty are invited - no experience necessary. We'll have a wonderful live performance from The Compaq Big Band and vocalist Anaïs Reno, playing a mix of great holiday swing tunes along some year-round swing favorites. There will be a dance lessons 7:30pm-8:00pm, with social dancing to the band 8:00pm-10:00pm in The Rat.

The Compaq Big Band has some very exciting gigs coming up in December – holiday swing dances and concerts are THE BEST! Although admission to this particular performance is limited to Boston College students, faculty, and alumni, we wanted to let you know we’re back on campus at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts for the BC Full Swing dance club’s 2022 Winter Social titled ‘Winter Wonderland’. Admission for the BC community is FREE. As with many of our dances presented by Full Swing through the years, this one will be held in the lower level of Lyons Hall, better known as ‘The Rat’’.

There will be an introductory swing dance lesson 7:30pm-8:00pm, with social dancing to the band 8:00pm-10:00pm. Dancers of all abilities, including novices, are welcomed! We’ll be playing a mix of great holiday swing tunes along some year-round swing favorites.

Out in front of the band that evening will be our special guest vocalist, jazz phenom Anaïs Reno from New York City. Released just last year, her debut album “Lovesome Thing” - comprised entirely of Billy Strayhorn/Duke Ellington tunes - rose to #6 on jazz charts and placed in the Top 10 for four consecutive weeks. She’s currently enrolled at the State University on New York – Purchase, majoring in vocal jazz performance as an Ella Fitzgerald Scholar, and performs frequently on stage at iconic New York City venues such as Birdland Jazz Club and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as jazz clubs in Philadelphia, London, and more.

Open Call Auditions are today! These auditions are for choreographed dances that practice 2 hours a week and perform in Full Swing's show in April. Open Call will take place TODAY, 9/25, in the Carney 206 studio from 8-10pm.
There are no cuts for these auditions! They're more like a lesson where you can meet the different dance groups and find the best fit for you. No experience is required, just wear clothes you can dance in and bring a water bottle!

Full Swing Auditions are upon us! We'll be hosting 2 different types of auditions. Stay tuned for more info on Open Call but first, here is a message from the Showdown Choreography Team:

Auditions will be held in the lovely Brighton Dance Studio this upcoming Monday (September 19th) from 5-7pm. If you do not know where Brighton Dance Studio is, our captains Dan and Emma will be meeting outside of Lower Dining Hall at 4:45pm to start walking over at 4:50pm! Or if you already know where you are heading, our choreographers June and Emily will be there ready to greet you, but be sure to be there and ready to dance at 5 o’clock! As a reminder, wear athletic clothing and bring water! We can't wait to see you all there, we encourage everyone to audition because no experience is necessary! See you Monday!

Get ready for a Night at the Beach this Saturday! Join us for lessons starting at 6, followed by social dancing until 9. Dress up in beach gear or wear a parka, we don't care!
And don't forget - for more info on weekly lessons and dance groups, come to our First General Meeting at 7:15 in Higgins 310 TONIGHT! Bring your friends and enjoy free pizza 🍕
