You’re invited THIS MONDAY (April 20) for insights into the music and poetry of our upcoming (May 16) concert. There will be Presentation, Music, and Refreshments! Free admission
Langston Hughes, Margaret Bonds, and Etta Moten are three giants of African American creative arts to emerge in the period between world wars, and whose influence is still felt today. Dr. Katy Karlin, Professor Emerita of English at Kansas State University, who has written and lectured on Etta Moten, will speak about how their lives intertwined. Bass-Baritone Alex Levicoff will sing music by Margaret Bonds, and Philomusica Chorale conductor, Gayle Wieand, will share insider notes on our upcoming concert.
You are also welcome to attend our rehearsal that will follow immediately after the presentation. We look forward to seeing you for this informative look behind the scenes!
Monday, April 20, 7:00-7:45 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia.
The concert: “We Hold These Truths: A Vision Unfolding” is May 16. Visit
