First Friday Art with Friends & Family
March 7, April 4, and May 2, 2025

Open Bible Church, 1401 W Porter Ave., Chesterton
Doors open to set up at 5PM. Class 5:30-8PM

* Core Rule: We test everything with 1 Cor. 10:31 “Whatever you do, do it ALL for the Glory of GOD.”
* Classes are Free; Participants are responsible for their own art supplies (list in comments); F/F may share.
* Any Experience Level for Any Teachable Heart
* Children 10 and under need parent or assigned adult to oversee them.
* To pre-register names in your group or to schedule a guided tour, DM art instructor, Joyce Girgenti.

Come to create something beautiful or simply come to fellowship while seeing what God is doing with Visual Arts.

The Lord answered our prayers and used our time to help us grow in our relationship with Him and with one another, and is being glorified through our efforts. 💞 We had a short study on still-life, story-paintings, and inspiration for our choices. From seemingly mundane decisions to big ones (including subjects to include in your art) it all matters to God. Regardless of age or where you are in life, God wants to lead and bless every thought and choice. 5 passages to help with choices: Proverbs 3:5-6 and 4:23, Philippians 4:6-9,2 Corinthians 10:6, 1 Corinthians 10:31🎨 We will resume in October. Doors open at 6 PM to set up and begin by 6:30. We will be done by 8:30 PM.

We’ve had a sweet time creating some beautiful work, building relationships, and learning to find instruction and inspiration from Scripture. Some paintings are still in progress and will hopefully be completed from home. 😊

Plans are to resume Art Class with Friends and Family on 1st Friday of September, October, and November at Open Bible Church of Chesterton. So keep making beautiful things with your hands, with your relationships, and with your life.

One of my greatest joys in life is witnessing artists discover their gifts, and see them grow and flourish as creative beings “made in the image of God.” (Gen. 1:26) “Through Christ, we are made new creations in the likeness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:17) You, too, were made to resemble our Creator mentally, morally, and relationally.

Our work reveals what we believe is beautiful and what’s important to us and God uses it to stir up conversations that exposes our deepest heart matters— what we believe about Him.

We have an opportunity to bless Global Partners in Peace and Development https://www.gpartners.org by painting faces from “many nations, tribes and tongues” for an interactive wall display.

If you would like to participate, Martina Drewes will give you the picture, info of the person, and wooden board to paint on. She will need to deliver the collection in August. If interested in helping out in this fun/creative way, DM her.

Kevin Hill always has great tips to sharing in his beautiful acrylic landscape demos. Kevin is like the new Bob Ross minus the afro. 😄 He even kind of sounds like him.
