Mission:
The Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education is a performing and visual arts center that provides and promotes cultural arts opportunities within our community. Managed by the Chesterfield Cultural Arts Foundation, the Perkinson Center seeks to improve lives and expand horizons by providing an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming space where all members of our community are encouraged t

o create, explore, and access cultural arts. The Perkinson Center changes lives for the better by bringing cultural arts and community together – bringing the power of art to all. Managed by the Chesterfield Cultural Arts Foundation (CCAF), the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education is the first public performing and visual arts center to be built from the ground up in the last century. The venue is more than 20,500 square feet and houses:
The 354-seat Jimmy Dean Theater & 35’ x 27’ stage
The Baxter & Elaine Perkinson Art Gallery
A 1,500 square foot multipurpose Education Center with attached patio
A 750 square foot classroom


The venue is also a world-class location for all of your special event needs, whether a wedding, a private party, or corporate work function, guests can immerse themselves in the arts in every space throughout the center.

The Perk is looking for friendly volunteers to help with our upcoming Artful Gatherings events on June 16th and July 1st!

Artful Gatherings is our monthly free make-and-take art opportunity, and we need a few extra hands to help make these creative experiences a success.

🖌️ Volunteer Hours: 10:45 AM – 2:15 PM
🖌️ No experience necessary
🖌️ On-site training provided
🖌️ Great opportunity to support arts programming in our community

Volunteers will assist with supervising activities, helping participants, and ensuring everyone has a fun and welcoming experience.
