"You could never do that"
“Who do you think you are trying that”
“You look so stupid”
Would you ever say something like that to someone you love? Probably not. So why do we say them to ourselves? We are all guilty of negative self-talk—but we’re even more guilty of ignoring the effect it has on our lives.
The way you speak to yourself matters. It shapes your confidence, your courage, and the chances you’re willing to take.
Imagine what could change if your inner voice sounded more like encouragement than criticism:
“You’re allowed to try.”
“You’re learning.”
“You belong here.”
In dance, and in life, you don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of showing up.
Talk to yourself like someone you love. Then watch what happens when you finally start believing it.
