StoneBridge School’s Drama program for theatre and film educational opportunities.

“Theatrics with a purpose.” (Matthew 18)

StoneBridge Drama is the theatre program at StoneBridge School, a private Christian school in Chesapeake, VA. The program offers performing arts training and opportunities to students, and encourages students to discover and explore the joy of sharing stories through the art forms of theatre and film. While theatre and performing opportunities arise for students in every grade at StoneBridge, StoneBridge Drama is an audition-based program specifically for students in grades 9-12, with occasional opportunities for younger grades, pending on the show. StoneBridge Drama produces at least two major productions every year: a film festival of student-produced films in January and a major musical in March. They also host an annual Princess Tea Party for young girls and their moms, and a series of summer camps.

We’re sailing towards our upcoming production of “Anne of Green Gables” and can’t wait!

Check out this awesome little boat that was custom made for us by the amazing David Polston with Theatre Basics. Can you guess what scene it will be used for in “Anne of Green Gables”? It’ll also be making an appearance in our spring musical, “The Little Mermaid!”

Sweet moments from our Princess Tea 🫖☕️🤍

The Princess Tea Party is one of our favorite events… Not because of the yummy treats or fancy dresses, but because of moments like these. The way that these little faces light up when they see a character they admire. The way the older students get to discover the joy of being there for these young girls and boys. The way little friends get to connect and have a wonderful time together.

Our Princess Tea Party is this Saturday, October 17th, and we can’t wait!!!

Here’s a behind-the-scenes peak at our film workshop day! The film students spent all day at school on Saturday working hard (and having fun!). We can’t wait for everyone to see their original short film, “jammed!” in this year’s student film festival.

P.S. Sorry to anyone who wanted a leftover donut - Daniel ate them all.

“Anne of Green Gables” isn’t only a beautiful story that we’re excited to share on stage… it also will have a beautiful, hand-painted set!

We love when the visual and performing arts get to mix and create something even more beautiful together! Here are StoneBridge art students, Kye and Emmie (who also is a student-director!), working on the set for the show. Huge thanks to StoneBridge Art teachers, Mrs. Wirtz and Ms. Sines, for this opportunity!

That’s a wrap on Grace’s student film, “Silhouettes!” We can’t wait to share all of the student films for this year. They’re going to be great!

Also Miss Spargur’s role in this film is fantastic - you don’t want to miss it!
