This afternoon, the Great Bridge High School Jazz Ensemble earned a Superior Rating at the 2026 VBODA Southside Jazz Assessment held at Tallwood High School. Congratulations to the students on this achievement and for representing the Great Bridge community so well!

Our 2026 Marching Wildcats Information Night will be on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM in the GBHS Auditorium. Parents and students are welcome!

Enter through Roy's Alley or entrance 24A near the band trailers.

If you cannot attend, there will be a video recap on our band website the following day.

Who can join the Marching Wildcats? For starters, any 9th through 12th grader enrolled at Great Bridge HS that is enrolled in a band class is encouraged to join the program's most visible and active ensemble!

We also have an outstanding Color Guard that includes many students from other music classes at GBHS, but ANYONE enrolled at the school may join, and no experience is necessary!

We are also looking for students at GBHS with any piano experience to perform with our ensemble! If you are interested in playing one of the most important instruments in the Marching Wildcats, and have any piano skills, let Mr. Ross know! (You get to play drums too!)

We can't wait to get started!

Great News!

All of the GBHS Orchestra, Band, and Choral programs received superior ratings at their respective Concert Performance Assessments!

As a result, Great Bridge High School is a V.M.E.A. Blue Ribbon Award recipient for the 2025-2026 school year!

Congratulations to the GBHS Wind Ensemble for their outstanding performance at the District IV Concert Band Assessment!

Both the Wind Ensemble and Ninth Grade Band earned unanimous Superior Ratings, and the program is now a 25-26 Virginia State Honor Band for the 22nd time!

Thank you to everyone who helped run the event! Students and parents, you were incredible!

It is almost here - V.B.O.D.A. District IV Concert Band Assessment is this March 18th, 19th, and 20th! The Great Bridge High School community is thrilled to serve as host.

There are two chances to catch our GBHS students perform:

GBHS Ninth Grade Band - March 18th at 3:30 PM

GBHS Wind Ensemble - March 20th at 2:50 PM
