This is a very special post. Seven years ago, I tattooed a dragon on a young man named AJ
At the time, I was just starting my career. In those early years, AJ and his sister Aleah gave me a chance when I was still learning, still growing, still trying to become the artist I hoped I could be. Proud to wear the work that started my journey.
A few months ago, Aleah came to me with a request I never expected.
AJ had passed away.
She wanted a dragon tattoo in his honor.
I had tattooed AJ’s dragon, and now I would have the privilege of creating his memorial piece for Aleah. A piece that carried his memory, his spirit, and a connection between them that would last forever.
This dragon was inspired by his original tattoo, reimagined and elevated as a tribute to the person he was. It includes his name in Japanese characters and was created with more heart behind it than I can put into words.
these are the peices that remind me that what we do is bigger than just the tattoo.
This piece was made with tears, memories, and love. It was an honor to carry a small part of AJ’s legacy forward and create something meaningful for the people who love him.
Thank you, Aleah, for trusting me with something so important, and supporting me through all the stages in my journey 🖤
Some tattoos come full circle.
This one came home.
Thank you for looking 🖤
(This peice is fully healed)
