It's that time of year again! The nights are starting to cool off, the mornings are crisp, fall is knocking at the door. That being said it is time to reopen our annual Corn Maze here at Bergey's! The maze opens this Saturday, September 12th and will go through October 31st. For more information visit Bergeysbarnyard.com.
A tradition since 2009, this year's aviation themed maze is near and dear to our hearts. Flying is woven all throughout our families tapestry.
We witness jets, cargo planes and helicopters flying low over our farm on a weekly basis due to the Navy's Fentress Auxilary Airfield next door. Over the years we've had the pleasure of serving Navy pilots and their families, who frequent our farm and store. Some have even lent us a helping hand on the farm.
In the early 2000's Bergey's Dairy went under. A few Bergey siblings came together and made a huge sacrifice to keep the farm in the family. They named their LLC, Flying Home. This was in large part due to one of the members, Lynn Bergey, being himself, a professional pilot. What you see happening today with our farm and store is only possible because of the decision that the siblings that make up Flying Home, made years ago.
This years maze is a tribute to Lynn Bergey and Flying Home. Lynn passed away at a young age earlier this year. A reminder of how fleeting life on this earth is. Words of the song. We love you Lynn. God bless you all and come join us this fall. 🥲🍂👨✈️🛫
