It’s a new normal and we’re all doing fine. Really!

She is having a great experience, and I am not totally empty nested bc I have a senior at home, but holy s**t does it feel weird at times.

I’ve been keeping visual journals for about a year and I really appreciate how much more I recall events and experiences because I took the time to throw a little drawing or painting together. Of course I also take photos but it feels so much more personal in the journal.

Do you keep a journal, visual or otherwise? And if you have a kid in college, how are you doing?

Am I the only one whose memories are kinda dreamlike and glowy?

I can’t get that effect with black. Too harsh and too contrasty. In fact I rarely ever use black with watercolor.

A glimmer from my childhood: the weeping willow tree we used to swing off of into a pond. (My mom did not know this until recently. Sorry, mom! 😬)

What’s YOUR memory of a willow tree? I’m convinced everyone has one. Comment yours, I’d love to hear it!
