10/17 I will not be open as it is my birthday and I have a family reunion to attend, this should be the last scheduled day of being open that I will in fact be closed, that is until Cherry Bowl Lanes closes to the public permanently.
11/7 makes 2 years of trying to make something happen here, over a year of me doing it alone, the costs of the added electric, insurance, maintenance, and permitting to keep this place open are not that much honestly, and it should be a lot easier to stay afloat, but it’s enough that I’ve had to pay out of pocket for months to stay open without being paid from this venture and I can’t continue to support something that so many in my community refuse to support and continue to belittle. It’s not economics it’s attitude, Check your heart, make space for hope not hate. I’m sorry to those that have been supporters from early on and have stuck with me through some incredibly hard times, this is just as heartbreaking for me as it is for you I promise.
11/7 is scheduled to be the last day Cherry Bowl Lanes will be open to the public and exist as Cherry Bowl Lanes. I’ll still have the building and continue building something here, though I won’t be able to keep my family’s home. I hope to be able to have something to offer to the community publicly at a later date when there is more support.
Picture attached is the gross from this week in which we hosted trivia, a live performer, and helped at the harvest festival, none of which I will receive any income for, and in fact will have to prop up, the other picture is an example of a comment I received on a video of the harvest festival. I don’t know this person, or why they feel so hopeless for cherryvale that there is NOTHING I can do, but somehow all the evidence points to that being true, it’s just never good enough, and if I’m the only one that cares enough to invest in it, then as much as I love this town and am willing to do whatever it takes, I’m not going to keep doing it alone and without the necessary support.
