Our county commissioners and fair board members don’t always get the spotlight, but their impact is woven into the everyday life of our community. They are the people who show up early, stay late, listen when it’s hard, and make decisions that shape the place we call home.
County commissioners carry the weight of choices that affect our roads, our safety, our local economy, and the services families rely on. They navigate challenges most of us never see, balancing budgets, advocating for resources, and working to ensure our county continues to grow in a way that reflects our values. Their leadership isn’t just about policy—it’s about people.
And our fair board… they are the heartbeat of one of our most cherished traditions. They pour countless hours into creating a fair that brings us together—neighbors, families, kids, and visitors alike. They support our youth programs, celebrate agriculture, and preserve the traditions that remind us who we are. The fair isn’t just an event; it’s a gathering place, a memory-maker, and a source of pride, thanks to their dedication. And fair is only 1 of 52 weeks in the year this group of dedicated volunteers are putting in hard work to make the Jefferson County Event Complex what it is today!
Both groups give their time not for recognition, but because they believe in this community. They believe in its future. They believe in us.
So today, let’s take a moment to appreciate them. To say thank you for the unseen work, the tough decisions, the long meetings, the early mornings, and the heart they put into making our county stronger, more connected, and more vibrant.
We are better because of them, so lets all raise a glass and cheers these great community leaders 🍻
