“Love is Brighter than Hate”
It took 17 days, roughly 8 hours a day to paint this. There are 20 sunflowers and about 600 sunflower pedals. The hardest part of the whole painting was painting in a little girl’s “Raggedy Ann Doll” that was left behind after the bombings started in this little town in Ukraine.
The name of painting is “Love is Brighter than Hate”. My friend Steve Johnson came up with it and I thought it was an excellent title for the content of this painting.
The “Ukraine Painting” will be auctioned off at the American Legion Post 1194 in Hillcrest September 2022 at 3pm (day has not been determined yet). Proceeds will go to See The Light for Save the Children of Ukraine. Phone bids will be taken also from 12 noon till 2:59pm the day of the auction. The plexy that is in this painting is Non-Glare, UV Protected, Shatterproof, and is safe for Acrylic Paintings because it allows the plexy to breath. And it is Insurable, one of the requirements in order to put in on your Homeowner’s Insurance Policy.
