Welcome back Bulldogs!

We are ready for a star-studded season, and tickets for our Mainstage productions are LIVE!

First up, we have The Prom! Running onstage from October 17th and 18th, four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue… and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. On a mission to make a difference, the Broadway stars team up with the courageous student, leading to a transformation that brings everyone together in the name of love and acceptance.

On Saturday, December 12th, for the fourth year in a row, we invite you to come in from the cold to our Gilded Gala. Admire our student art gallery, peruse our offered baskets and silent auction, and put your name down for our raffles! Your ticket comes with appetizers, a catered meal by Moveable Feast, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages by Mobile Side Bar, an after-party treat, and raffle submissions!
Experience a unique dinner-and-a-show experience right on the Chelsea High School stage!
The dress code is Semi-Formal/Black Tie Optional. Doors open at 6pm, with dinner beginning at 7.
Public tickets go live on September 14th!

In April, come experience the classic mystery: Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express! Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

This fall our Community Ed department is offering two Theatre Arts Enrichment courses designed for students in 7th-12th Grade!

COSTUME DESIGN
This course serves as a great opportunity for students who wish to begin learning about Theatrical Costume Design. Over 6 sessions, the students will learn about:
-Color Theory and Design Terminology
-Hand Sewing
-Machine Sewing and Patterns
-Elements of Design
-Creation of Design
Enrolled students will leave with a creation of their own. While a majority of the supplies will be provided, students will be asked to provide their own fabric for the final project.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING
Each session will touch on age-appropriate acting techniques, theatre history basics, and rep building. Topics would include:
-Basic Theatre Terminology
-Theatre History 101
-Physical Acting
-Self Care in Theatre
-Cold Reads
-Audition Taping

The Chelsea High School Theatre Guild is searching for costume pieces for our October production of The Prom!

We are in need of various sizes and colors (the more colorful, the better!) of 2010's style clothing like:
-Suits/Blazers/Sport Jackets
-Prom and Homecoming Dresses
-Flannels and Zip-Up Hoodies
-Lace Camisoles
