I want to take a few minutes to thank everyone who helped make today's Team Vasas fundraiser at Chelsea Lanes such a wonderful day.
When we first started planning this event, we really didn't know what to expect. We knew we wanted to help the Vasas family, and we hoped we could get enough people involved to make a difference. What we ended up with was a lot of good people coming together for a family that has been through an awful lot.
I can't thank everyone enough.
First, I want to recognize our major sponsors who helped make this event possible.
❤️ The Halfacre Squad at LaFontaine Chevrolet of Dexter
❤️ McKernan Realty Group - Reinhart Realtors
❤️ Chelsea Lanes
❤️ Right Hand Print and Apparel
❤️ Cottage Inn Pizza
I also want to thank the many businesses and individuals who donated items for our silent auction, door prizes, and other parts of the fundraiser. We had some really nice items donated, and I appreciate every business that took the time to help us out.
Chelsea Antique Mall – Ed & Kathy GreenLeaf, LaFontaine Chevrolet Dexter, Nick's Auto Detail, Salisbury Lawn Service, Lucky Strike Entertainment, Station 300, Reed Barbering, SpaFinder, Thompson's Pizza, Dexter Bakery, O&W Distributing, Ken McGee & Dawn Donnelly – U of M Memorabilia, JD Bistro, Old Oak Barrel, Advantage Physical Training, Chelsea Village Flowers, Darryl and Killeen Kuebler (and their awesome pretzels), Art Moehn Dealership – Chelsea, Jewelry Set in Stone, Calderone Golf Course, Empower Esthetics,
I know our local businesses get asked to help with fundraisers all the time. I also know that running a business isn't always easy, so when someone is willing to donate something or write a check to help another family, it means a lot. Thank you for doing that.
There are a few people I especially want to thank for helping us put everything together.
Robert Halfacre, Matt McKernan, Thomas from Right Hand Print & Apparel, and Karen, Sean, and Jenna Fosdick. I appreciate all the time, effort, and help you gave us. There were a lot of things that needed to come together, and you all helped make that happen.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ashley Vasas and her family. Ashley, helped us gather donations, organize things, and take care of so many details. We couldn't have gotten all of this done without your help.
I also want to recognize the Chelsea Firefighters Union for the generous check they presented at our earlier fundraiser for Noah Vasas. Thank you for being there for this family.
To everyone who purchased a lane, bought raffle tickets, participated in the silent auction, made a cash donation, or volunteered their time, thank you. Some people were able to give a lot, others gave what they could, and some simply gave their time. Every bit of it helped.
It was really nice to look around the bowling center today and see people having a good time. People were bowling, eating pizza, visiting with friends, and enjoying the afternoon. Knowing that everyone was there to help the same family made it even better.
I've lived and worked in this community for a long time, and days like today remind me why I enjoy being here. We have a lot of good people in Chelsea and the surrounding communities. People who are willing to take a little time out of their day to help someone else.
I also want to thank everyone who worked behind the scenes today. There were people helping with registration, the auction, raffles, prizes, food, and plenty of other things that most people probably never noticed. I appreciate you giving up part of your Saturday to help us.
I'm sure I've forgotten to mention someone, I apologize. There were so many people who helped in one way or another, and I don't want anyone to feel like their contribution wasn't appreciated.
At the end of the day, I just hope we were able to make things a little easier for the Vasas family. No family should have to go through what they have been dealing with, especially with so much happening at once.
Please continue to keep the entire Vasas family in your thoughts and prayers. They still have a lot ahead of them, and I hope we can continue to be there for them.
Thank you again to everyone who helped, donated, volunteered, or came out today. I wish I could thank each of you personally. We have some really awesome people around here. -Eddie GreenLeaf
