🍂Oooo we are loving the cool, sweater weather mornings and finally feeling the Autumn season peeking in!

Hi! Jess here. 👋

I am the co-owner of 🐐Windy Goat Acres🐐, which is a unique farmstay in the Bohemie Alps of Tama Co. In the last 5 years, we,(myself and Jim) have built it up, grassroots style, with the cutest yurts, cabins, and a hobbit house!

We host retreats, artists and musicians, mermaids and the Sasquatch? And just folks that want to enjoy a peaceful place that supports biodiversity, wildlife and nature conservation, creativity, and the love for animals.

I am a creative, an artist, herbalist, wildlife enthusiast and conservationist that also loves all animals.

I just wanted to take a real moment to say that when you book a farmstay at Windy Goat, that, although at times it may feel like it, you are not walking into an instagram reel or storybook version of a homestead/animal sanctuary life.

This is an every creative woman’s (and man’s) homestead. Yes, it’s beautiful, but it’s not curated all the time. It’s also useful, unfinished, slightly chaotic, and deeply personal. This place is an extension of myself and Jim. 😁

Windy Goat is not a high budget corporate facility, a page from a magazine, or a show farm. It looks like a homestead that is actively living, making, experimenting, failing, learning, hosting, growing, and changing on site. And you’ll probably see some of that while you are here.

This life can be so often romanticized on social media, but the unromantic parts are the parts they don’t show very often.

I’d be happy to show you! It’s an overwhelming and out of control garden and digging through the weeds to find a turnip, things constantly breaking at the most unfortunate times, an animal getting sick and having to drop everything to care for it, physical and mental exhaustion at the end of the day, alll the laundry a woman can manage, the creative work that doesn’t get to happen, the 7 unfinished projects laying around, cereal for dinner, and the occasional questioning of why I thought it was a good idea. 😂🙏🤦🏻‍♀️

So when you stay here, remember we are always going out of our way to give you the best experience possible, to gift you that romanticized version of the homesteading and animal sanctuary life, but we are also running around doing the messy and chaotic homestead life behind the scenes that you may or may not know about😂♥️🫶 🐐

✨Along with being a hidden magical Faery realm in and of itself, Windy Goat Acres is a goat/animal sanctuary that is home for so many friendly animals like horses, goats, rabbits, llamas, sheep, ducks, kitties, peacocks, potbelly pigs, and more!

✨Ticket sales from the Faery Experience helps support all these amazing animals to live their best lives! 🐷🐴

✨Faeries like it here because the space is made for nature to thrive which in turn allows for more beautiful things like butterflies and fireflies and mushrooms and so many birds! 🧚

✨Come bee entertained by all the faerie characters and performers, live music and adventures, but this is also a space for tranquility and relaxation. This is why we call it a retreat, not an event. You can go sit in the woods with the faeries by yourself, or have a real go at the aerials with an instructor that takes their time with you, or have some genuine interaction with the fairy characters if you want!

🦄We limit ticket numbers to focus on the immersion and atmosphere instead of big crowds and chaos. There are a few left! It’s time!

🛖Our most frequently asked question (right now) is if the yurts/cabins/hobbit house have AC! 💨 ❄️

Wanted to spread the word that YeS! All sites have temp control. AC in the summer and heat in the winter! We are open all year round so we do our best to make it as comfortable as possible. The sites that stay the coolest in the summer are the hobbit house and the cabins.

Other basic amenities and comforts include electricity (lighting, outlets), games and movies and books and tv, fridge, microwave, cooking supplies and dishes, clean sheets and bedding, private firepit, running water, complimentary coffees and teas…+++

Each site has its own unique charm and special things about them, so perhaps you’ll have to check them all out!
