QUILT RAFFLE! 7.27 - 8.8

On February 24th 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine’s borders, initiating a deadly war. While our focus and attention to this crisis may have waned, the invasion is still happening and people of Ukraine are still reeling from the effects.

In times of crisis such as this, the LGBTIQIA+ community and BIPOC face higher risks and are often excluded from relief efforts due to systemic discrimination. Sadly, Q***r and Black communities of Ukraine simply cannot always count on mainstream systems for help.

We aim to ease this burden, even if slightly. Quilters from across the United States and Canada have created three beautiful, heirloom quality quilts. These quilts are being raffled off by way of direct donation. Click the link below to learn how you can enter for just a $5 donation. 🕊💙💛🕊

My sweet mom hooked me up with a big, stainless steel pot! I’ve spent the past couple days preparing all the fabric I could find for Week 1 (scouring) & Week 2 (mordant) of the hosted by

I’ll be experimenting with both cotton and linen fabric. So excited to have my own dye station on our deck! Gathering all my supplies, making a suspension ice dye station, and settin’ up shop!

The natural dye-along has officially commenced! My supplies hath arrived from and I’m ready to rock. Huzzah!

This week, it’s all about gearing up with the goods and preparing our textiles for dyeing. I’ll be gathering some more goodies to dye and scour.

Spent a couple hours with my mom, Saturday thrifting & antique store strollin’.

Scored some well-loved and patched up overalls! Perfect for refinishing the dressers I’ve been working on. Plus, a few other little treasures too! Including a BIG ladybug canvas bag, a wooden embroidery frame, a retro patchwork sampler wall hanging, and some nice fabric remnants. All in all, a good little haul.💕 Thanks for taking me, Ma!

Rather than selecting a single organization to benefit from our raffle, each of the 32 Quilt Scouts responsible for creating a block or more for our beautiful collab quilt selected a local-to-them organization, group, or person in need of support. Selecting local organizations and groups is aligned with the tenets of Mutual Aid that we shared and learned during our badge project.

I’ve chosen YWCA Central Washington, located in Wenatchee.

YWCA North Central Washington is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all - that includes local LGBTQIA+ community.
Our local vision is to empower women, men, and children to break the cycle of economic insecurity and homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency through assistance, support and education.

I am honored to be contributing two blocks to a collaborative quilt that will be raffled off to raise money for Black and LGBTQ+ Ukrainians. These blocks are on their way to in WA. I can’t wait to see the blocks from quilters, all over the US and Canada, come together to raise funds for Ukrainians.

The pattern we are using is by
