If you're signing up for a class with us this fall, chances are you'll be learning from Wendy. If you've taken a class with her, you already know: she's patient, funny, and genuinely delighted every time a student's stitches click into place.

Wendy has a gift for meeting people exactly where they are — whether that's someone who's never held a needle before, or someone who's been knitting for years and just hit a snag they can't shake. Her classes are as much about confidence as they are about technique.

That reach isn't just local, either. Wendy recently taught a beginning spinning workshop at the Seattle Flock and Fiber Festival to students who had traveled in from Connecticut, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and the greater Seattle area to learn to spin with her.

Fall is here, and so is our September class schedule! Whether you're picking up needles for the first time or need a hand untangling a tricky pattern, there's a class with your name on it this month:

🧶 Beginning Knitting with Wendy — Thu, Sep 10 (multiple sessions) — $25. Learn to knit from scratch, or get support if you're just getting started.

🪢 Sample Weaving at its Best! — Sat, Sep 12, 10am. For intermediate weavers — spend the day on pre-warped looms learning four techniques: Clasped Weft, Undulating Twill, Overshot, and Pinwheel.

🧶 Knitting Help with Wendy — Thu, Sep 17 (multiple sessions) — $20. Stuck on a project? Bring it in and Wendy will help you fix it.

🌀 All-Day Beginning Spinning Workshop — Sat, Sep 19, 10am — $160. New to spinning and don't have three weeks for a full class? This one's for you (only one spot left!).

🧶 Granny Squares Galore! — Sat, Sep 19, 10am — $60. Becka walks you through the traditional Granny Square and the Sunflower Granny Square, with new squares to learn every other month.

🪡 Drop Spindle Class — Tue, Sep 22, 12pm — $60. Explore wool and its properties, learn about drop spindles, and leave with your own plied yarn.

🧶 Beginning Knitting with Wendy — Thu, Sep 24 (multiple sessions) — $25. A second chance to start your knitting journey this month.

There's a particular kind of light that shows up in September mornings — softer, a little golden, worth slowing down for.

As summer winds down, so does our summer schedule: starting this month we're back to our standard hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. We loved the long summer evenings, but honestly? We're just as happy to settle back into our usual rhythm — coffee brewing next door, wool on the shelves, and a little more time to sit and stitch.

This summer asked more of you than a typical August — between the heat closures and the shuffled hours, we know our schedule wasn't always easy to keep up with. Thank you for rolling with it, for checking before you came by, and for still showing up for this little shop all season long. We don't take that patience, or that loyalty, for granted.

Now that the days are starting to ease off and cooler mornings are on the way, we're genuinely excited for what's next: early fall projects, new yarn on the shelves, and a full slate of classes just around the corner. Thank you for another summer with us. We can't wait to help you start whatever you're making next.

Our notions wall isn't big, and that's on purpose. We could fill it with every stitch marker and needle gauge on the market — instead, we carry the ones we'd actually recommend to a friend: the scissors that stay sharp, the tape measure that doesn't stretch, the row counter you'll actually remember to use.

Every tool up there earned its spot because it makes the making easier, not because it was cheap to stock. Come find the ones you didn't know you needed.

Round two of our fall class preview, and this time we're heading toward the loom and the wheel. Sample Weaving is built for weavers who already have a project or two under their belt and want to expand their range — you'll work through a set of samples designed to build real technique and confidence for bigger projects ahead.

New to spinning altogether? Our All-Day Beginning Spinning Workshop takes you from raw fiber to finished yarn in a single immersive day, wheel and all. And if a full day feels like a lot, the Drop Spindle Class is a gentler, more portable way in — no wheel required, just fiber, a spindle, and a patient teacher.

On the shelves this week: Alp Natural from Feza Yarns, a DK-weight blend of cotton, viscose, linen, and silk that's tied by hand before it's dyed by hand — which is exactly why no two hanks ever look quite alike.

Brad teaches weaving with the kind of quiet enthusiasm that makes even the most technical parts of the craft feel approachable, and he genuinely lights up watching a first-timer make their first project.
