Sammy Nestico isn't a household name like Count Basie or Buddy Rich, but his impact on jazz and popular music was huge. We can't wait to hear the Chattanooga Monday Nite Big Band take on this powerhouse music this Monday.

We are back with a very special show. Join us Monday June 1st at 7:30pm. The Chattanooga Monday Night Big Band presents the music of Sammy Nestico. Sammy was a very fine musician and especially a great composer. Sammy was a WW2 U.S Army veteran. After the war he was the conductor for the Glenn Miller Air Force band, later the Airmen Of Note. From there he was the arranger for the Count Basie Band. In addition he played trombone for Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Gene Krupa, and Charlie Barnett. His TV credits are too many to mention. Come on out for a special evening of great big band jazz.
