Beautiful work from film photographer, Matt Dunmore.

Matt took these images down at Old Car City in White, GA. It's an intriguing spot for abstracts, detail shots, and a feeling of nostalgia.

Support Chattanooga’s photography community at Depth of Field Day! 📷

On September 24, the Chattanooga Aperture Project is hosting a full day celebrating local photography, with free workshops from 12–5 PM followed by the Aperture Exhibition & Reception from 5:30–9 PM, featuring work from more than 40 photographers.

We’re especially excited to see two PSC members leading workshops during the day:

Lightroom 101 with Richard Smith
Get acquainted with Lightroom’s Develop Module and learn the essential tools for bringing your digital images to life. Great for beginner and intermediate photographers.

Curious by Nature with Nichole Vild
One card. One hour. A hands-on creative photography session designed to interrupt your usual way of seeing and help you discover photographs you might otherwise walk right past. Bring a camera or smartphone. All experience levels welcome.

⚠️ Workshop sizes are intentionally small, and advance registration is required. Scan the QR code on the flyer to reserve your spot.

Then stick around for the evening exhibition, refreshments, activities, music, guest speakers, and a celebration of Chattanooga’s creative photography community.

📍 Workshops: Chattanooga Small Business Resource Center
📍 Exhibition & Reception: Bessie Smith Cultural Center

We love seeing more opportunities for photographers to learn, create, connect, and share their work right here in Chattanooga.

Taken on 8/8/2026. The Commemorative Air Force flew their B-29 in for a few days earlier this month and offered rides for sale. Named Fifi here it is in its element of flight. Captured this view from the roof of the parking garage. The trick to prop driven planes is to slow the shutter speed to capture the props turning but still get a reasonably sharp photo. If you keep the shutter speed high the props “freeze” in the photo and it doesn’t look natural. Here it is at 1/125 of a second but f-11 to get the whole plane in focus. Hard to hold a long lens upwards!!!
