Experimenting with wood firing pottery.
The dish was bisqueware the beads were greenware.
The larger beads didn't make it, but the smaller beads and the bisqueware dish came out great!
Definitely need more study and practice.
I know I've been absent for a minute. My kiln has been out of commission since December and I was sick for the month of January. Got to feeling much better physically, got parts for my kiln, had it rewired and connected, ran a successful test fire to cone 06 and then......one of the terminals burned and melted the top switch. πβ οΈπ Thankfully only in one spot, everything else was fine.
We can fix it, but it requires more work and a couple more parts.
In the meantime, I'm investigating wood firing techniques. I'll continue to share my results π₯πΊπ₯
What kind of wood fired pieces would you like to see? Planters? Vases? Offering bowls/dishes? Cauldrons?
Artists who use beads, what size and style of beads would you be interested in seeing wood fired?
