The news is finally out... the Blue Plate building has been sold and we wish the new owner all the best of success! Many, many thanks go to all the dedicated, hardworking staff since the '22 reopening including managers Colleen Carpenter and Cris Morales, chefs Tomas Antonio and Mike Johnson, the many world-class musicians that graced the basement stage, and of course all of you, our customers!
By arrangement with the new owner the Blue Plate sign will remain up for a bit until their new business is ready.

The bad news and the good news.
Sadly, the Blue Plate Restaurant, Chatham NY is closed for good. A pretty good run of 31 years ( minus a few breaks) as the Blue Plate, it's been here, in an iconic building we remember as Hess's Market, the Inn Between, Hail Columbia, and others before. Over the past couple of years since reopening post-pandemic, we've served something like 25,000 dinners, and hosted over a hundred nights of live music in the basement bar, and we'll miss all of that including all our devoted customers and friends, musicians, and hardworking staff.

The good news is, it's time for new energy
and a new owner to take the iconic One Kinderhook Street to even greater heights. Many folks have inquired. The potential is there. So if you know anyone interested, tell them to give Janet Kain at TKG a call.

We have a last minute surprise musical treat tonight, Saturday at 7pm-ish in the bar... the "Sultans of Sing"! From the band:

"The Sultans of Sing is a band of three veteran musicians who are dedicated to audience involvement and celebration of the harmonies and joy of the American songbook from the 60s and 70s. songs by the Everlies and Paul Simon alternate with tunes from the Band, Billy Joel, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, little feat, Buffet, Eagles and Creedence - songs we grew up with and most know by heart.

Solar Pete is on keys, Danny Nerenberg is on guitar, and jukebox Richie is on guitars. we all sing.

This night is super special! we are joined by a west coast recording and performance master, William Skinner, who grew up in sand lake and found a new home in the Bay area. It is super to have him front the band tonight. We will all sing Lights with him in harmony."

We'll be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day , reopening on Thursday the 28th through the 31st. Live music on the 29th with the Amy Ryan Band duo "2 Blue," and on the 31st with a double header, two bands - jazz at 5 pm and Rich Hallenbeck at 7 pm!! Happy Holidays to all!
