Today will be a busy day in Chatham today. The Warm Ewe is celebrating World Wide Knit in Public Day (other fiber crafts too). Join us on the sidewalk from 2 pm to 5 pm (with refreshments. Bring a chair and your project and show off your skills. Get a raffle ticket for a Warm Ewe gift certificate. We’re also joining other Main Street merchants for a village wide sidewalk sale and Kinderhook Street tag sale. We have samples for sale, free patterns and other items discounted for you, including some book shelves that don’t fit in our new location. See you later for a fun fay.

You can still sign up for our Intarsia Basics class at The Warm Ewe that takes place this Saturday, June 13 and next Saturday, June 20 from 9 am to 11 am. There are a few spaces available. Call or stop by the store to reserve your place. This class will teach you seamless color changes, weaving in ends, duplicate stitch and reading color charts. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to add these great skills to your knitting expertise.

In this two session class you will learn the basic techniques for seamless color changes, navigating color charts, managing your yarns without tangles, and weaving in ends. Only one more day for you to shop the trunk show from The Periwinkle Sheep. It leaves The Warm Ewe at the close of business tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27), so don’t miss out. You know and love the beautiful colors Karin creates. See them on yarn bases that the shop doesn’t normally carry. You will be disappointed if you miss this.

You may also be disappointed if you don’t sign up for the hat class that takes place this Saturday and June 6th. There are still a few places left. We’re delighted to welcome designer to teach you all the techniques needed to knit a hat from casting on to the pompom! Also using the magic loop technique and getting stripes to match when knitting in the round, very useful when knitting garments other than hats too. Stop by or call the shop to reserve your place.

We are delighted to host knitwear designer and teacher Caarin Fleishmann to The Warm Ewe to teach Knit Your First Hat next Saturday. Learn to make a hat from the brim to the pompom using magic loop. Already completed your first or many hats? This class includes techniques for incorporating smoothly joined stripes in the round, very handy to know. Call or stop by the shop (at our new address - 22 Main Street) to sign up.

It’s day 2 of trunk show at The Warm Ewe! The show will be at the shop until Memorial Day. Yesterday was very busy and lots of Karin’s beautiful yarns went home with delighted buyers. You won’t want to miss this show.

If the weather forecast holds, we’ll celebrate our first Community Making of 2026 outside today from 2 to 5 pm. Bring your project and a chair and join us.

Don’t miss the trunk show from that starts today. Select from yarn bases and colors that we don’t usually carry and see Karin’s latest color exploration, Points of Light. Come and see what’s available and meet Karin. She’s great at suggesting beautiful combinations and has samples for you to see and feel. We know you will be inspired. The yarns and samples will be at the shop through Memorial Day if you can’t come this weekend.
