Today, I’m just feeling ME. This month I turn 50 with 3 years experience, and I’m damn proud of all those years.

I worked way too hard to get through all the things to this very day right here, and I make no apologies for any of it. I learned, I fu**ed up, I learned some more, I did better.

And now, I’m here. I’m still learning and making plenty of mistakes, but as long as I keep learning and moving forward, I’m good.

This still baffles me.

Every so often, I come across a magazine article, an Instagram post, something, that brings back to the surface the FACT that women were rarely if ever included in medical studies before 1993.

Literally, no laws existed that required women to be included in medical studies until 1993.

Why this bothers me? First, I’m a woman. My health and wellness is hugely important to me, and my doctors can’t properly advise or direct me if all the information related to my specific health is only studied on or by men. Second, 1993 was the year my first child was born. I still think about how different that pregnancy could have been, how different the labor and delivery could have been, if doctors actually had far more information specifically about women.

1993, people. That’s less than 35 years. 35 freaking years that someone finally figured out women have distinctly different health needs than men.

This world boggles my brain sometimes…..

I’ve been staying away from social media more often lately, outside posts for work. I did learn how to schedule posts, so that’s helped maximize my down time.

Socials have become very draining for me, and hence my drive away from it all. Mostly, it’s a time suck. But, so much of it is also rooted deeply in negative content, and what’s left is so cherry picked by the media, and their spelling and grammar usage makes the content difficult to follow.

So……you know where to find me. Stop by for coffee and conversation whenever. I’ll probably even feed you and share my latest favorite podcast episode. And next week, I’ll be in my next college class.

Reminiscing about that one time……..

I miss my old man getting up to go for walks in the morning. This house is too quiet now.

My whole routine has been sideways for over 6 weeks now, due to a sciatic issue, and barely 2 weeks ago having our pup make his final exit.

Damn, you just never realize what you’re missing until it’s not there……..

About 2/3 of core workout…..and I’m DONE! But, that’s still progress after all the chaos of the last few years, including hernia surgery…..
