DMR Adventures DMR Adventures provides professional performing arts training FROM the professionals! We are located at the Belmont Arts Collaborative.

We offer opportunities for all levels and produce shows, classes, camps, and run a youth leadership program. DMR Adventures provides professional performing arts training FROM the professionals. The high caliber of training serves to drive passion, discipline, and commitment in the students with whom we work. Part of this training includes a mentorship program, the Youth Leadership Program. This p

rogram allows driven students with an interest in leadership the opportunity to handle responsibilities as members of the creative or technical team on productions and assist or lead classes. Our students have gone on to top musical theatre conservatories and university training programs, and to perform in film, television, and even a national tour! DMR believes in making performances and classes accessible to all, and have worked with communities with underserved populations as well as families with children who have sensory-related issues to make a difference for these students through the arts. We are proud to have provided approximately $50,000 in scholarships and discounts to students in need. We are thrilled to have just moved into our new rehearsal and performance space, the Belmont Arts Collaborative. To learn more about DMR Adventures, please visitwww.DMRAdventures.com

YAS! Registration is Now Open to the Public!

Registration for DMR Adventures’ YAS! Youth After School program is now open to the public for the upcoming school year.

YAS! is the only after-school program of its kind in our area, combining performing arts, visual arts, creativity, collaboration, leadership, and confidence-building in one joyful and inspiring adventure.

Year after year, we are amazed by the growth we see in our students. Through YAS!, students learn to collaborate, lead, problem-solve, speak and sing in public, express themselves creatively, and build confidence in ways that carry far beyond the stage.

Over the years, YAS! students have learned to juggle, create costumes, explore comedy, practice breakdancing, act, sing, dance, animate, write scripts, make stop-motion films, produce podcasts, create original plays and films, and even work in a recording studio to record original songs. It is truly incredible to see what they discover and what they are capable of when given the space, support, and encouragement to create.

Because YAS! is a unique program, families must complete an application before registering. The application helps us make sure the program is the right fit for each student and helps us determine transportation needs before families complete registration.

This year, for the first time, YAS! will run in alignment with both Charlottesville City and Albemarle County school calendars, making the program accessible to more families than ever before.

Families interested in joining YAS! can begin the application process here:

We cannot wait to welcome a new group of young artists, creators, leaders, and collaborators into YAS!

We believe the arts should be accessible to every child who wants to learn, grow, and belong. One of the biggest ways we make that possible is through our YAS! (Youth After School) program. YAS! is a unique after-school program that blends acting, music, dance, and visual arts into a creative environment where students can learn, collaborate, and thrive. It is the only program of its kind in our area.

But for many families, transportation is the biggest barrier to participation. In order to make YAS! and the arts accessible to the Charlottesville and Albemarle communities, we pick students up directly from their schools and bring them to our studios so they can attend the program safely and consistently. We provide transportation from several schools in the area! Unfortunately, transportation is also one of our largest challenges. Because we offer so many scholarships—and because the vans are used primarily during the school year—our transportation program currently operates at a loss. We have absorbed those costs for years because we believe so strongly in making the program accessible.

Now we need a more sustainable solution. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase two reliable passenger vans to transport students from local schools to DMR Adventures. These vans will allow us to continue providing transportation for YAS! students, ensure scholarship students can continue to attend, improve safety and reliability, and keep the program accessible to families across the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

For many students, YAS! is more than an after-school program. It’s where they discover confidence, build friendships, develop creativity, and find mentors who believe in them. For some, it’s the place where they feel most like themselves. Transportation should never be the reason a child cannot participate.

Your support will help us purchase two vans and keep this program accessible to the students who need it most. Every contribution—large or small—helps us continue our mission of making the arts available to all.

They have worked so hard this year in their ensemble training and in private lessons, as well as a large format performance in the fall and cabarets in the winter months. Their growth is astounding - this is always one of our favorite nights of the year.
