In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Month, we’re honored to introduce Masae Momotani - one of our teachers at Foster Art!
Masae was born in Japan and attended art school there. Since moving to America, she has used art to connect with others and reaffirm her identity. Her most recent accomplishments include an art exhibit at Northside Library and a spot as an exhibiting artist at the McGuffey Art Center’s 2026 Mid-Atlantic Juried Show. At Foster Art, she teaches in the After School Program, assists with birthday parties, and leads art classes for both children and adults (including one of our bestsellers, Pet Portraits!)
Her next class is Take Me to Japan - where students will explore the art of calligraphy, learn foundational Japanese language skills, and dive into traditional crafts from Japan. Whether you’re a curious beginner or already passionate about Japanese culture, this class offers a hands-on journey through one of the world’s most fascinating traditions. Come ready to create, connect, and explore!
