So this white fire horse, painting, is a portrait of two fire horses, as they move along together, with the colors of the fire, the oranges, and yellows coming around and illuminating the horses' faces. The eyelashes on the horses are bright white, along with the fur of the horse themselves.

This is the rearing fire horse with flames in his mane and tail, and as he paws at the sky. There are flames that leap up beneath his feet, and over his head.

I enjoyed doing this painting of the fire horse, 'cause it's like the flames are coming out of the horse, and animating the horse and having the horse fly forward with the flames flowing out of his mane and tail.

I did the last painting, the painting with the ballet dancers, had been so detailed and kind of tedious, that I decided, I wanted to do something abstract and wild and crazy? And so, I started throwing shapes and circles and lines onto this canvas, and then I started thinking about aliens, and I decided to call it Alien Adventure. At first, I thought about calling it Alien Invasion, but I didn't want it to be a threatening kind of invasion. So I just called it “Alien Adventure.”

This is the second in my series of the piece Peace Dove paintings. In this one, the Peace Dove is rising out of chaos. We can see things have been bombed and smashed, and things are looking terribly fiery. The Peace Dove is rising up, with a hopeful thought toward the light.

A while ago, I was driving along a road where a neighbor had mowed and rolled up bales of hay and I thought they looked remarkable. I took photographs. And then I've done several paintings. The Mystic Hayfield with Round Bales. is almost like a magic flowing out of a golden area in the trees. And it becomes bright and delightful.

The farmer near Crozet who has this beautiful field gave me permission to set up my easel and paint. Later I decided to do this more abstract and mystical version of the hayfield.

Alternative description: The farmer near Crozet who has this beautiful field gave me permission to set up my easel to paint. Later I decided to do this more abstract and mystical version of the hayfield. “Mystic” as well as beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but one must admit that these waving lines in the field certainly radiate from a royal purple heart. They bear the rounded bales like fruit from Mother Nature hanging before our eyes. Steven Pressfield made a mystical suggestion in his 1995 book “The Legend of Bagger Vance” that we “See the Field.”
