Halloween 2012 I was smoking pork in my yard with apple wood when I picked up a chunk to add to the embers and decided out of the blue to try and carve a pipe out of it. Thus began what would become an obsession. I had no big ideas, plans, or clue what the future might hold, just desire. That hasn't changed much. I spent the next several months acquiring tools, reading everything I could find, watching videos, asking questions and listening to any one that would offer advice, and lots of hands on practice learning to make pipes. Still the learning curve continues and the desire remains. Here's a photo of some of early rejects that helped me along the way. I cringe at the some of the hideousness in this photo, but hey, it is Halloween. Thanks for all the help, support, and encouragement along the way!
