“After projection mapping the Landmark as part of Charlottesville’s Grand Illumination in 2017, a recurring thought to use the structure permanently as a venue for the community began to gain traction. Meeting Ludwig a year ago and sharing ideas led to a mutual appreciation for the idea, and now we are doing it!” Says Jeff Dobrow, Visual Artist at Zilog80.com and technical director at Flowlab.

What if we could use the abandoned Landmark as a showcase for art? The pieces and parts to do this exist in our community.

It’s really that simple. After mapping the Landmark in 2017 and feeling the interest from the community, an idea was born to turn this structure into a canvas for all those in our community. And not just any canvas but a massive showcase of light standing over our downtown, entertaining and inspiring as shared art should!
