NEXTGEN Skilled Trades Day invites students and their families to imagine what's possible through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and conversations with local employers. 🛠️ It's a chance to explore careers shaping our community and see how the skills learned today can build the places, businesses, and ideas of tomorrow.

Supporting opportunities like this is part of Tom Tom's commitment to imagining a better future, together. 🔆 A stronger future starts by giving the next generation the chance to see themselves as part of building it.

📅 Saturday, October 17
🕙 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
📍 Piedmont Virginia Community College

Brought to you by the Charlottesville Office of Economic Development, Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce, and Piedmont Virginia Community College.

The future is not just something we imagine. It is something we build in the places we call home. 🏙️

NextGen Cities asks how technology, design, and civic imagination can help communities become more connected, inclusive, and alive. Civics. Placemaking. Technology. Belonging. It's about the choices we make now: what we build, what we preserve, who we listen to, and what we are willing to change.

In April we'll gather in the public square amidst music, art, and wide-ranging ideas to take stock of what we have inherited and imagine what comes next.

We were grateful to support CvilleBioHub as a partner for the 5th Annual BioDiscovery Summit, which also marked their 10th anniversary! 🙌 Founders, investors, researchers, and community leaders filled the Irving Theater at the CODE Building for a full day on where Virginia's life sciences community is headed.

CvilleBioHub got its start at a biotech panel during Tom Tom Festival ten years ago, and it's grown into an organization representing dozens of companies, roughly $450 million in investment, and 2,500 jobs for the region. Tom Tom Foundation Executive Director, Paul Beyer, spoke at the summit about that decade of impact, and we hosted a lunch conversation at our offices on how Charlottesville can keep growing its life sciences ecosystem.

Congratulations to CvilleBioHub on ten years! 👏
