Well this is something you don’t see every day…

1902 F.G. Otto & Co. “Euphonia” disc music box 🎶

Disc music boxes like the Euphonia had a relatively brief moment in the spotlight, peaking from the late 1880s into the early 1910s. At the time, they were considered cutting-edge home entertainment, allowing people to swap interchangeable metal discs to “change songs” long before recorded audio became mainstream.

Technologies like phonographs, Victrolas, and eventually radio rapidly replaced disc music boxes, making their brief chapter in music history all the more fascinating today.

This example is housed in a beautiful mahogany case and retains its highly desirable double-comb mechanism, known for producing a fuller, richer sound than standard examples. Includes 12 discs.

New arrival: Capri, 1946. A small painting with a story to tell.

An inscription on the reverse connects the painting to George B. Lindgren, an ensign aboard the USS Houston (CL-81). While we can’t clearly identify the artist’s signature, the work appears to have been collected by Lindgren during the ship’s 1946 Mediterranean deployment.

The USS Houston had just returned to service following major wartime repairs before embarking on a goodwill tour through Europe and Italy. The painting preserves a small glimpse into a transitional postwar moment when wartime service was giving way to peacetime travel and diplomacy.

Lindgren went on to become a Navy Captain after a long naval career spanning World War II, Korea, and decades of leadership and engineering service.

A fitting piece to reflect on just after Memorial Day. We’re grateful for the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.

We work with a handful of local Airbnb hosts, designers, and home stagers to bring original art into thoughtfully designed spaces around Charlottesville.

The art gets to be lived with, the spaces gain something personal, and sometimes the right piece finds its person.

We are deeply honored to celebrate the life and work of Aina Nergaard-Nammack (March 12, 1930– April 20, 2026), an artist who spent her days in pursuit of color, balance, and rhythm on the canvas. Her paintings have long been a favorite at our gallery, and many have found homes with collectors in the Cville community and beyond. ❤️

This carousel shares a small glimpse into the expansive body of paintings she created across decades — a practice shaped by curiosity, movement, music, and joy that became an unmistakable visual language all her own.

So not only are these V. Nason & C. Murano art glass perfume bottles just 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 cool…they’ve survived four decades in genuinely perfect condition.

Signed at the base, no chips or scratches, original stoppers, and even the stickers are still intact. Pretty impressive, especially given how delicate these are. Crafted in the 1980s with bold geometric stoppers, these perfume bottles are truly little works of art.

Height range from ~6 ½” - 7” tall. Available for $185 each at the gallery.
